Where did the referendum language come from?

0

The referendum language is substantially the same as a Town of Lexington bylaw that was adopted in 1934. The Lexington bylaw was itself amended in 1988 to address the need for recycling. The proposed Natick bylaw does not mention recycling, however. Courts have ruled that since trash service is described in the Lexington bylaws, it has a higher priority than other Town services.
