Where did the name “zpizza” come from?
Sid and his partner, Susie, were getting ready to open their first restaurant together and kept calling it “the pizza place” when they talked about it. Susie was French and pronounced it “zee pizza place”. As they were getting closer to opening, they still hadn’t decided on a name and decided to use the name they’d always used “z pizza”! Over the years, the space has been dropped and it is just “zpizza”, or as we like to call it, just “z”.
