Where did the name Caffeine Sunday come from?
The band formed circa 1997, and at the time called itself Caffeine because it was a catchy name, lent a nice comparison between the drug’s natural effect and the energetic nature of the band’s music, and also happened to be one of Ryan’s favourite substances. It soon became apparent, though, that the name would not be unique. Searches soon proved there were other ‘Caffeine’ bands out there, so after some serious thought Ryan and Christopher settled on Caffeine Sunday. “It just seemed to stick, it was a memorable name that seemed to fit with our music,” says Christopher. Ryan adds that the name reflects the emotions of a coffee-fed, burnt out, introspective, recovering day-after, so to speak.
