Where did the money come from to lease instructional staff laptops? Isn’t money tight for public education?

Yes, money is tight for public education. Technology is also such an integral element of today’s world that public education must carve out ways to fund adequate technology in schools. Fortunately, our school board and district administration recognizes the importance of technology integration and has dedicated money from our general fund to support the district’s technology planning efforts. A year ago the Technology Blueprint committee was put together to move the district forward with technology and staff support in support of 21st century learning. At that time this committee recommended the district set aside 1.5 million dollars to get the project started. The school board accepted this recommendation and that money is funding this phase 1 Blueprint implementation, including leased laptops for instructional staff.
