Where did the idea for Classical TV come from?
The idea for Classical TV is quite simple. We aim to offer streamed performing arts TV and programmes to a worldwide audience either free or as a pay per view for premium events such as Opera from the Metropolitan Opera House in New York. Classical TV was first tried in 2000 but we had to wait for the technology to catch up and download speeds to improve. In the intervening years we have been building up the world’s largest library of broadcast content covering classical music, opera, ballet, musicals, classical theatre or dance so that when we launched this year, we were able to deliver the kind of superior broadcasting that our discerning audience would expect.
