The Fisher House Foundation, started by Zachary and Elizabeth Fisher has donated “comfort homes” built on the grounds of military and VA major medical centers. The program began in 1990. The Fisher House Foundation funds part of the house and also works with local communities to secure funding for the homes. Once the construction is completed the home is given to the gaining branch.
