Where did the Emerging Leaders Program come from?
The program is an outgrowth of a study conducted by NCTC at the request of Director Dale Hall. He asked that NCTC examine the Service’s leadership development and succession planning efforts and make recommendations for any improvements that would better position the Service to face the challenges of the future. NCTC conducted a benchmarking study of 10 highly regarded public and private sector organizations as well as extensive review of the literature. One finding was that high performing organizations identified, tracked, and continued development of employees with high potential for higher levels of leadership. The pilot Emerging Leaders Program is the start of a program designed to meet that need. Why are only ALDP graduates eligible for this program?
