Where did the Alleson name come from?

Our corporate name is Alleson of Rochester, d.b.a.. Alleson Athletic. Alleson of Rochester was founded by Abe Levine and his son William in 1933. “Alleson” is the abbreviated form of “Abe Levine and son”. In the late 1960s our founder’s son, Donald, passed away from cancer. In honor of Donald, the name of our athletic apparel company was changed to Don Alleson Athletic. Since then we have condensed that name by removing the “Don.” However, Don Alleson Athletic will always be a strong part of our heritage.
