Where did Ricky Carmichael place in the motocross tournament?
Ricky Carmichael took his motocross career to another level. Carmichael, a five-time Supercross champion and six-time AMA national outdoor champion, won his first X Games gold medal in the Moto X step-up competition at Staples Center. Carmichael cleared 33 feet on his first attempt. The only other competitor remaining, defending champion Ronnie Renner, failed to clear the bar on both attempts. It was the second X Games gold medal for Carmichael, a 28-year-old from Clearwater, Fla., who won the inaugural Moto X Racing event last season.
