Where did Prince William pop the question to Kate Middleton?
Prince William proposed to Kate Middleton in an African hut in Kenya. He gave her his mother’s (Princess Diana) sapphire-and-diamond ring.
"It was my way of making sure my mother didn’t miss out on today and the excitement and the fact that we’re going to spend the rest of our lives together."
Kate reveals that the proposal was "very romantic… very personal."
The two met in 2001 at St. Andrew’s University, and began dating two years after. Their on-again-off-again relationship is a great example of a modern relationship that prevails in the end.
She will be the sixth Queen Catherine, and the first commoner to marry a future king in 350 years (the last was Anne Hyde with King James in 1660).
