Where did exactly did Astrology come from?
Astrology has been developed in various forms through about all of the civilizations of the world. Eastern Astrology differs from the astrology that we practice in the West but the ideas and concepts stay the same on a fundamental level. The terminology which we commonly use in order to interpret our astrology originates from Greek analysis of the stars. Following the Hellenistic period in ancient Greece, Greek was established as the universal language of astrology and thus spread to Rome and throughout the Roman Empire. Influences from India and even the Far East, turned the Eastern Roman Empire into a melting pots of Hellenistic and Sanskrit astrology and led eventually to the development of a particular Islamic astrology. The word astrology itself is a Middle English adaptation of the Greek ‘astrologia’, or the study of the stars, whereas the word horoscope represents the action of analysis and come from the Latin ‘horoscopus’ and the Greek ‘horoskopos’ , ‘hora’ meaning hour or seas
