Where did all the handmade plush go?
Quite a few things aligned when I made the decision to not only paint again, but to stop making plushes. It’s been 3 solid years of sewing the same patterns over and over again and I needed a break. I felt a bit of painting would be refreshing and help stretch the ole’ creative muscle. About a week later the economy took a swipe at my main mortgage paying business and I realized that I couldn’t pretend that the plushes were making much money beyond paying for supplies and affording me a coffee now and then. I also realized I was happy painting and it would be a bit easier to sell ‘copies’ since an outside printer would make giclees. And they would be affordable for everyone and I wouldn’t have to repaint something once it sold.
