Where did Adam Copeland (Edge) and Jason Reso (Christian) get there ring names from?
Christian’s had his name since starting in wrestling, in the indy promotions he was known as Christian Cage. It was made up on a spur of the moment thing and he got the names from to famous actors and combined them, Christian Slater and Nicolas Cage. When joining WWE it went down to being just Christian and he kept that name mainly because it also fitted in with his first WWE storyline, The Brood, where he was playing a gothic character. Edge’s name in the indy circuits were one’s like Sexton Hardcastle. When he signed to WWE he got the Edge name but apparently didn’t think of it much himself. He was apparently in the WWE offices and they were trying to think of names for his ‘loner’ character, which he originally was, and they were thinking on the lines of ‘On The Edge’ and things. Edge also tried to throw some cool sounding names at them in that but didn’t sound like they worked so Edge ust kind of stuck.
