Where could I ride quad bike in Scotland (tracks or just unused land)?
it is illegal to ride anywhere in the uk inc scotland and ireland without the land owners permision Even if it is private land IF the public have right of access then you need to be licenced and insured If it is a byway or public right of way then the vehicle needs the basics of a registration and a daytime MOT SO if it is a QUADRACYCLE of ANY CAPACITY to be able to ride it legally ANYWHERE in the British Isles you have to be over the age of 21 car or full motorcycle licence ,Taxed and registered for the road and Insured. If on private land without any footpaths or public rights of way then all you need is the land owners permission. Some how I do not think your local GILLIE will give you permission to romp across their lairds moors and heather destroying habitat and hunting grounds look on the maps for little red crosses +-+-+-+ like that this means BOAT Byway open to all traffic..
