Where could I buy Clownfish – and freshwater vs. saltwater.?
Clownfish are saltwater fish, and should only be kept in a salt water tank. They are completely different set-ups, and you should never put a saltwater fish in a freshwater tank, and vice versa. A saltwater set-up usually has sand, not gravel, and sea salt is used to maintain a salt level of 1.024. This should be monitored regularly by testing your salt level with the proper equipment, and should also be tested weekly to ensure your PH, Ammonia, Nitrate, and Nitrite are all where they should be. Live rock is also needed for a saltwater set-up. Sea salt is not the same as the aquarium salt some use as a natural tonic in freshwater tanks, and should never be used to replace it. It is very expensive to set-up. Again, freshwater fish, and saltwater fish should never be conbined. You will kill them. It’s either – or, not both. If you want clownfish, you are going to need to set up a saltwater tank. It should be quite simple to find clownfish depending on where you live. Phone your local pet
