Why don’t you contact your local library? My library lets me download audio- and e-books online from 2 large collections they subscribe to. It is free and they started adding movies too. And joining the library is free too. And the infrastructure for downloading, logging in and all organizational stuff is taken care for by the library and new books are constantly added. All it would take is the option that the patients will be at least temporary members of the library, even if they don’t live normally in the area the library covers. You could have the library set up some accounts for the hospital. Discuss it with them. And if your library is small and does not offer this service, maybe there is a bigger library close enough you can make a deal with them. It’s something I can see a library be interested in.
