Where can you buy coloured glass bottles?
usually bottle trees are made using blue bottles, because the color blue supposedly wards off the spirits (which is also the reason why they used to paint the ceilings and porch tops of houses blue), so the color blue is what traps the spirits inside. blue bottles are much easier to find then glass coke and pepsi bottles because while the glass soda bottles are hard to find now (i know a couple of local stores where i can get them but no big places), saratoga water still uses blue glass bottles and they are cobalt blue which supposedly is the best color to use for a bottle tree. they are pretty pricey, since its mineral water, so its usually $20-$30 for a 24 pack of 12 oz. bottles, but its the only place i know that still sells colored glass bottles, unless you want to use beer bottles but that would probably cost more.
