Where can you buy chemicals for experimental purposes in Australia?

Yes, there are 36 chemical companies in the Adelaide yellow pages. Rowe Scientific is one and they would supply the chemicals you mention. Ask for technical grade as these are a lot cheaper than LR or AR grade. There are certain chemicals they probably won’t sell you. Phosphorus, Arsenic, Benzene, Potassium Chlorate Ammonium Nitrate, for example but these are very dangerous and need expert handling. Some toy shops sell Chemistry sets for children, so you might like to look there. Zinc and Hydrochloric Acid would be available at hardware stores like Bunnings. Citric Acid would be available in the condiments section in Woolworths. Non hazardous chemicals would be readily available at Chemical Supply stores. I have walked in and just bought chemicals. They were for work, but nobody ever asked why I wanted them. Mostly the problem is the price if you buy AR grade. It is expensive.
