Where can overseas trained doctors work?

0

An overseas trained doctor (OTD) must work in an Area of Need if they are not able to obtain full medical registration in Australia, or they have not completed the standard pathway for general practitioner assessment or, they have not completed the standard pathway for specialist assessment. More information on medical registration can be found on DoctorConnect under Registering and qualifying. If the position requires the OTD to have a Medicare provider number for Medicare billing purposes, the doctor will also need to work in a District of Workforce Shortage in order to access Medicare rebates.
