Where can my child /I get evaluated for FASD?
If you suspect your child may have FASD, it is important to have your child screened. A diagnosis and support services can prevent secondary disabilities associated with FASD. These secondary disabilities include mental health disorders, problems with employment and school; confinement; problems with the law; and alcohol and drug problems. For interventions, the child may be referred to a speech therapist, occupational therapist, special programs at school, nutritionist, and psychologist. It is important for you to be connected to a provider, such as a pediatrician, and to maintain regular medical appointments for your child.
