Where can i submit music to recording companies?
The key isn’t, “Where.” The key is, “Who.” You can find out where to send music to, if you want it to end up on a slush pile that may or may not be listened to. And maybe then ripped off by another artist in their stable. (And then, if listened to, maybe a 1 in 100 or 1 in 1,000 shot at getting contacted at all – let alone getting a contract.) Or you can learn what Agents and Managers do, get one, and then get them to knock on the doors and use their existing contacts to get you in the door. The general wisdom is – it’s much easier and better to get a Manager, who can get you an Agent, who can get someone in the industry to listen to your music than try to get a recording executive to listen to a demo directly. Yep, that’s two more people who will be taking a cut out of your stash. But then again, the right Manager and Agent will actually get you a stash – instead of you hoping someone will listen to an unsolicited submission.
