There is a pretty good chance they’re not really worth anything. Find someone who knows a thing or two about comics just to check to see if you have one of the 2 dozen or so comics from that time period that gained worth (Amazing Spider-Man and Uncanny X-Men are your best bets). There’s a couple comic book stores in England called Forbidden Planet. Find the nearest one to you using http://www.forbiddenplanet.com and give them a call, ask them if they’d be interested and what they recommend doing with them. That’s your best shot. If you want to check prices for youself, find some of the comics you own on ebay, and see what people have paid for them. That’s more accurate than any price guide.
