Where can I read books online?

You can read public domain books (those no longer under copyright, which are the only legal ones unless the author or publisher offers the book) for free at many different places online. The best site, in my opinion, is http://www.gutenberg.org/wiki/Main_Page Gutenberg, which has 27,000 titles. The Literature Network http://www.online-literature.com/author_… is a good site, especially if you want to search for words and phrases in one of the stories they have available. Google Books http://books.google.com/ has many titles. The public domain stories can be read in their entirety, some of those still under copyright have portions available to read online by permission of the publisher. Harper Collins http
