Where can I purchase pictures of famous writers, particularly John Steinbeck, that can be framed (non posters)?
Many of the most famous authors have museums dedicated to their lives and work. They probably also have stores with a variety of different sized pictures and visual aids. For Steinbeck, I found a sketch at his museum store. When you find a photo you like, save it to a memory card and take it to a Kinkos type place to have it reproduced to any size you want (keeping copyright laws in mind). The LibraryThing.com website is actively trying to collect out-of-copyright author photos and making them available to the public.
