Where can I play Magic: The Gathering online?
Good news and bad news unfortunately. Good news: You can play online for free, it’s their official online version. You first download the whole thing, and then you can play for free in their trial rooms. Problem is you can only use their newest Core Set Decks. 40 card decks, 1 of each color. They are not what you would call “pro” decks but it’s the only way to play free. A lot of noobish people will be there since it’s the trial which in your case is good. Bad news: If you want to play legit with any cards and make decks however you want, you have to pay real money. It’s not a monthly fee, it’s kinda lame how they do this too. You pay $9.99 to make your account and then they let you buy $9.99 worth of online cards/tickets. Tickets cost $1 each and you use them to play the tournaments. You don’t have to pay for the tickets, but what I learned is people pretty much will trade you online cards for the tickets, and you can get more cards out of it, but most likely not much.
