Where can I learn how to speak Japanese as a second language?
To learn Japanese you must know that it is nothing like English because it is an SOV language. That means to have a grammatically correct sentence you must put the subject first, the object second, and the verb last. The verb is always the predicate. You also have to learn about particles like “wa” and “ga”. “Wa” is a topic marker and “ga” is a subject marker. You also have to memorize Hiragana and Katakana which are the two writing systems. You also need to to learn some Kanji to replace some Hiragana. You need many references like books, websites, mangas, and even actually conversing in Japanese with people who know the language. Traveling is also very helpful. To start you off you should purchase or check this book out of the library it’s called Barron’s Japanese Grammar Second Edition by Carol and Nobuo Akiyama. It has color-coded charts, a dictionary, phrases and words, honorifics, and a chart of Hiragana and Katakana. Japanese is very difficult to learn but with motivation and stud
