Where can I learn about the weather and sailing in Greece?
The weather in Greece is hot and dry during the high season, sometimes reaching 40°C (104°F). Being on the water (or in the water) is the best way to keep cool. In the low season it gets cold. Athens sometimes gets 6″ of snow! Which is why we usually only provide charters from Easter to Halloween. Another factor to keep in mind when making your booking, is the sea temperature. This lags behind the air temperature by 2 months, so doesn’t get warm enough to swim until June. On the other hand, even after cool & crisp evenings arrive in October, the sea is still warm enough for a swim after a day of sailing. There is no better site than Sailing Issues to give you a good sense of what to expect. SailCyclades is not listed through the charter links on this site (not the site’s main purpose), so be sure to come back here to book!
