Where can I go prairie dog shooting on Buffalo Gap National Grassland?
With one exception, anywhere on the Buffalo Gap National Grassland and all associated units of the Nebraska National Forest that are open to hunting. The exception is the Conata Basin south of Wall, SD, which is part of the Buffalo Gap National Grassland and is the worlds most successful black-footed ferret recovery site. The black-footed ferret is a federally listed endangered species and depends almost exclusively upon prairie dogs for its food and shelter.
