The best exchange rate will be from an ATM machine when you get here and from using your credit card. Just make sure your ATM card is linked (maestro or cirrus logo) – then you can use it all over the world. Both use the official exchange rate – not the ‘we buy at one rate and sell at another’. Talk to your bank before you go. The worst exchange rates are at currency exchanges and by using traveller’s cheques. Australia has ATM’s everywhere and they usually let you take out $500 per day.
