If you have a new comp (2 yrs or newer), hopefully you have firewire capabilities, if not you can get one for about 50 bucks. But I would refer the PreSonus FireBox $300 high fidelity 24bit/96k recording straight to your computer. It is very similar to the M-Box used for proTools but less expensive. Comes with all the software, not sure how “easy” it is, since I have had a lot of recording expierence. That’s what I have and you can get studio quality sounds if you get decent condensor mics or you can go straight in with your guitar if thats what you like. Two most important things in rec is your preamp (ie presonus firebox, mbox, mixer) and your mic (i use an audio technica AT3035), its always better to mic an instrument if you can avoid going in direct, just sounds too flat without a mic.
