Hannah Taylor Gordon has been picked from the more than 1,200 who auditioned to play Anne Frank in a new ABC mini-series being filmed in Prague. The $12 million production strives for authenticity and it also longs to bring the person that Anne Frank was alive again. They want to make her a person and not just an icon of the Holocaust. The show will cover the 4 years before the family goes into hiding, through the months of hiding, and then it will follow the family as they go into the camps where Anne will meet her death. After reading about this I’m very much looking forward to seeing this series and I know that teachers will use this film for years to come when they teach The Diary of Anne Frank. It will help the next generation at least come to terms with their own understanding of the horror of the Holocaust.
