You may look at a copy at City Hall offices, or at the Oskaloosa Police Department. The noise ordinance is described in Chapter 9 (9.12.040) of the Code. Basically, the noise ordinance states that no person shall operate a vehicle sound system that can be heard at a distance of one hundred feet or greater from the vehicle or a sound amplification device that can be heard at a distance of one hundred feet or greater from its source. The Chief of Police may grant a temporary variance to this section to facilitate special events.
