Used oil is oil that has been used for lubricating or other purposes, and has become unsuitable for its original use because of the presence of impurities or loss of its original properties. Used oil is not “waste oil.” It is a recoverable, recyclable resource. Used oils include: • engine, turbine or gear lubricating oils; • hydraulic and transmission fluids; • metalworking fluids used in cutting, grinding, machining, rolling, stamping and coating.
