Answer: City Boards, Commissions and Committees generally include groups of dedicated citizens appointed to one of three types of bodies: • Advisory to the City Council • Advisory to another local or regional agency • A decision-making body for another local or regional agency Some of these bodies are comprised solely of appointed citizens, some include appointed citizens and elected officials, and some are solely comprised of elected officials. There are currently eight bodies that are advisory to the City Council. Seven of these include City Council appointments of citizen members.
