Where can I get information about the Illinois Plumbing Code?
The Illinois Plumbing Code is developed by the Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH) Plumbing Advisory Council and administered by the Illinois Department of Public Health, Plumbing Program.The current regulations apply to all new construction and alteration of existing systems in Illinois. Local governments may promulgate local regulations for plumbing but these requirements are subject to the provisions of the Illinois Plumbing Code.The code is available by calling the Plumbing Program at 217/524-0791. The Department charges $40.00 for a hard copy of the Illinois Plumbing Code. The rules are also available at www.idph.state.il.us/rulesregs/77-0890.
