As a courtesy, the Community Planning Division annually mails a prepared brochure/guide to residents regarding floodzone-related matters. The City also maintains a flood protection library at the Pinellas Park Public Library reference desk, so that residents can be better informed about flooding and flood protection. This information explains the National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP) and methods of protecting property from flooding with Federal Emergency Management Agency’s (FEMA) Flood Insurance Rate Maps (FIRM) specific to the Pinellas Park area. This material may also be reviewed at the City’s Public Works/Technical Services Building.
