Where can I get community service hours for a teen?
Angeline, look up “nonprofits” in your local phone book. These are philanthropic organizations that provide a variety of services in your community. Make a list of the ones that do work that interests you — could be a children’s cancer organization, or one for humane treatment of animals, or a botanical garden or friends of local libraries. Contact the organizations that interest you and tell them that you and your parents would like to arrange for you to do some of the work from home. You can stuff envelopes for a large mailing, put together stewardship packages or other tasks of their choosing. Congratulations on your honor status. You must be a great kid!
