Where can I get advice about travel for disabled people?
The Disabled Persons Transport Advisory Committee, (DPTAC) advises the Government on the transport needs of all disabled people across the UK. It also advises on disabled access to buildings and on the street. They have a door to door section in their website which covers going by road, rail, air, sea, travel around London, shopping, going to work, school/college, hospital or going on holiday. London TravelWatch investigates suggestions and complaints from users of the Underground, the National Rail network, London’s bus network, Docklands Light Railway, Croydon Tramlink, taxis and other users of the Greater London Road Network. They also carry out independent research and produce publications on issues affecting transport users. Citizens advice also publish information on transport options for disabled people.
