Where can I get a voltage transformer for an american appliance to be used in Australia?

An adapter just makes it possible to use an electrical plug from one country in another country with a different plug style. A converter actually changes the voltage by an internal transformer. Point being, you will need both, a converter AND adapter (set). Since your plan is to use an American appliance in a foreign country, buy the set in America before leaving. Sets in Australia would be based upon using Australian appliances in foreign (to them) countries. You can try Radio Shack. They always have those sets, but they’re a little more pricey. Walmart usually carries a set for about $20, but look in Housewares. They’re not in Electronics like I would have thought. Target or Best Buy will probably have such sets, too. I don’t know what a Vitamix is, but check the power rating (watts) and make sure whatever adapter/converter set you buy is rated at that level or higher. Such sets are meant for very small appliances, not the more major ones.
