First of all, no Texas Instruments calculator can natively support a ROM image of any Gameboy game through the TI-OS. And yes, you must have TI-Boy to emulate a Gameboy game. TI-Boy is fairly new. Version Alpha 0.02 came out only a few months ago, so at the moment it supports a very small amount of games (which includes Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening, Tetris, and certain Pokemon versions). Theoretically, the ROM should work. There is no ROM just for the TI-84 Plus calculator (or any calculator for that matter), because the ROM is designed for the Gameboy. Therefore, TI-Boy emulates the game, just as your computer would. There’s currently a known bug for TI-84 Plus (SE) calculators. Generally if the calculator was bought within two years, then it’s too new. TI seems to have made a small hardware change during that time, which is probably the cause of these errors. You could always check the back of your calculator to find its revision number. Above the battery case, there should be a
