Are you in college? If so, go to the student center and find out who is hiring. Colleges are always looking to fill part time jobs for students. The best job I had in college was grading papers for a professor, which reinforced my understanding of the subject matter and gave me quite a bit of face time with the faculty. The pay was really excellent compared to washing dishes or bussing tables at a local fast food restaurant. The other options you should consider are internships within the same industry as your major. Again the best way to get introduced is to spend some time with your professors and talk to them about it. They work for you, get to know them and they will help you out.
