In the City of St. Charles, guns do not need to be registered, but OWNERS do. This is done with a Firearm Owner’s Identification (FOID) card. The program is administered by the Illinois State Police, but as a courtesy, forms are available at the front desk of the St. Charles Police Department. Please call the Firearms Services Bureau, Customer Service Unit at 1-217-782-7980 with questions.
