Where can I find well paid teaching positions overseas?
Gosh, this seems to be a popular question. Here’s the deal with overseas schools. If you want to teach at an American or international school, you generally need at least two years of experience in the States first. At my school there are only 2-3 teachers who did not do time in the States first. Once you get that experience, you need to sign on with an agency. The two largest and most reputable agencies are Search Associates and ISS. They will consolidate your rec letters and resume etc, and put it on line for all of the schools looking to hire for your position to see. You also get access to the website, and can send query letters to all of the schools with openings in your field of teaching. It costs about $200, but it is well worth it, because they take care of so much stuff for you. As for making money overseas, I taught in the States for five years before coming to Asia.
