Where can i find videos on learning lindy hop/swing dance moves solo?
Welcome to the wonderful world of swing dancing and lindy hop! You’ll never regret taking up this hobby. Below I’ve put three links. The first has free video instructions, the second has a DVD/video tape you can order and the third contains dance step instructions (text only) that might help you remember some of the things you’re learning in class. However, I would strongly discourage you from trying to learn new steps without a partner. Lindy is a partner dance and the lead-follow relationship is critical to being able to dance well with a partner. If you learn steps on your own, you will not have any sense of the leading/following — you’re basically just learning choreography. As a follow, you’ll end up not being able to follow those steps properly and will likely be trying to anticipate which sequence your partner is leading instead of feeling the leads and following them. It seems like a subtle difference, but it can make all the difference in being a good follow or always messing
