Where can I find the rules of procedure for the district courts?
The fundamentals of communicating with the court and the other parties in a legal proceeding are governed by the rules of court. These are the instructions on what to do, when to do it and how many copies to make, among other things. The Rules of Civil Procedure, Rules of Criminal Procedure and the General Rules of Practice for the District Courts can be found in Minnesota Rules of Court, a one-volume, soft-cover book, and in the Court Rules volumes of Minnesota Statutes and Minnesota Statutes Annotated. The annotated volumes include brief abstracts of court opinions in which the rules have been interpreted. The rules can also be found online at: http://www.mncourts.gov/default.aspx?page=511.
