Where can i find the best deals on bach trumpets?
I would NOT buy one online. It’s not that you’ll get ripped off (woodwindandbrass is a great site) it’s just that if you’re in the market for an intermediate or pro trumpet I assume you know what you’re looking for so I’m not sure how you can buy a trumpet without playing it first. These are hand made instruments (for the most part) and despite the technicalogical advances in the last 20 years there’s still a lot of variation from horn to horn – even in the same model. I’m the proud owner of a Bach Stad but I probably played 5 of them before I chose the one I liked (plus probably 15 others of brands I didn’t like). Then the other night at rehearsal this guy shows up with a Yamaha Bobby Shew. He let me blow it and now I’m about ready to ditch my Bach Strad! You just never know. If you’re near a metropolitan area go to a sizeable store with a large selection and play everything in the shop. You still may not find what you want.
