Where can I find statistics for a specific cancer type?
Cancer statistics in most developed countries are monitored closely by health authorities. In the United States, this is done by the National Cancer Institute (NCI), which is run by the National Institute of Health (NIH). They have a huge amount of publicly-available (and free) data, for the general public. Cancers are listed by their type at www.cancer.gov
The Surveillance, Epidemiology and End Results (SEER) program is a subsidiary of the NCI which provides healthcare researchers, specifically those looking into cancer trends, the latest data. The SEER program website is www.seer.cancer.gov
