A number of states have developed guidelines or standards for the planning and design of courthouses. Some of the more recent guidelines include Colorado, Michigan, California, Virginia, and Utah.In addition to the above state guidelines, the National Center for State Courts has published The Courthouse: A Planning and Design Guide for Court Facilities.
