To begin with, here are the obvious books: • The Lord of the Rings where the appendices contain much useful material. • The Silmarillion has an appendix with word elements. • The History of Middle-earth series contains much material. Especially The Lost Road is a must, since it contains a major dictionary in the section entitled The Etymologies.
