The sort code is the ‘address’ of the bank. If you have a Maestro or Switch card, have a look at the long number on the front. The 8 digits on the right will almost certainly be your account number. Then the 6 digits before the last 8 are going to be your sort code. At least, that’s how it worked on all the Switch and Maestro cards I’ve ever had.
